Glad Tidings is a culturally diverse church with an emphasis on practical teaching, supportive fellowship, and furthering God's kingdom.
Glad Tidings is an Assemblies of God church pastored by the pastoral staff, Revs. Carl and Donna Keyes and Rev. Matt Huett. Glad Tidings is a culturally diverse church with an emphasis on practical teaching, supportive fellowship, and furthering God's kingdom. With a strong vision to build a better city, Glad Tidings actively reaches out to the community to change lives. Church programs express God's Word and His love in many ways through various media: from the pulpit, on the streets, through music, drama, art and dance. Glad Tidings cultivates new believers and provides a safe community in which to worship and learn more about God, and a forum to express individual gifts and talents to His Glory.
Established in 1907 by Rev. Marie E. Brown, Glad Tidings has a rich and fascinating history. Serving the New York community consistently and steadfastly, the church has had only four pastors in its 100 years of existence.
During the tragic events of September 11th, Glad Tidings mobilized to lead relief efforts, ministering through a 24-hour counseling center, feeding relief workers, donating goods and services, and working with the local and national government agencies to channel support through finances and supplies. Pastors Carl & Donna Keyes were recognized by the United States Senate for their tremendous work in 2001.
